Day 21 - Venice

Emerged from a pea souper`to cruise into the Venice lagoon early morning to end our fabulous weeks cruise of the Mediteranean.

Thanks to a waiting shuttle we were quickly ferried to our hotel near the airport, checked in and after a sort rest taken back to the bus stop to allow us to journey into Venice proper on a beautiful sunny day

Well prepared after a weeks use of on board grid iron ` tackling Tourists in Venice was going to be problem this time !

I soon recalled why I'd always wanted a son as we visited the same few thousand shops we visited last time with both Kylee & Tegan keen to do some end of tour shopping !

We made our way on foot shop by shop down to a very crowded Piazza San Marco to watch our departing cruise ship and what an amazing sight it was !

At 16+ stories the ship towered over the Venetian buildings as it passed the square and the head of the Grand Canal the sight looking just as incredible as it did the week before when we were on deck

Walking back we stopped at one of the most amazing Gelato shops recommended as the best in Venice and boy were the critics right obscure titles like cream, milk, nutella and the like made for mouth watering flavors

We walked down quiet side streets for magnificent views - Venice and its tourist throngs can be intimidating but once off the beaten path the place becomes enchanting.

We settled for some traditional pasta own then finished our Venice experience with a loop of Venice on the water by night by way of the Grand Canal - no matter how many times you do this you can't help but be amazed at the historical wealth of this beautiful city

So with a Ciao Bella its off to see her beautiful sister Paris as Kylee and Tegan enjoy their last day on trip before flying home.
