Day 24 Prague -

With the` gas tanks ` refuelled and the sun out again it was time to go exploring !

We took little notice of our map and just meandered in the general direction of the old town to soon discover why Prague is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe

Street upon street of Baroque & Gothic style buildings looking as if they'd been built recently not hundreds of years before !

We spent time in the Jewish sector with its synagogues, cemetery and memorial to some 80,000 Jews who were forcibly stripped of property and rights and sent to concentration camps most never to return.

Eventually following the crowds brings you to the magnificent historical central square and its many open air restaurants - the stunning 14 th C Charles bridge a Prague stand for tourists a further 10 mins
away .

Our night time exploits took on a classical nature with concert - I guess we should have been a little wary of the fact that we could buy the best seats in the house 1 day out but 5 mins from performance time there would have only been 60 people in the whole theatre a magnificent 1,500 seater !

A few late comers and a couple of ushers tipped the numbers over a 100 as the ensemble presented only as 6 violinists and 2 others but despite this the classical music was superb and the acoustics brilliant even if the atmosphere was somewhat lacking !
We knew this as in leaving after the one hour show we noticed one of the violinists going out with us - I suppose it doesn't take long to pack a violin !

Another round of goulash, and a night time walk to the city square rounded off a pretty busy day !

PS both Tegan and Kylee arrived home safely to bunches of flowers from their respective boyfriends ..... so they were missed after all !
