Venice Day 13 -

We escaped from UK`s imminent ice age taking an early morning flight out of Gatwick arriving Venice in a veritable heatwave at
12 C !

Assisted to our appartment on the Italian mainland by the apartments friendly owner we were soon back on the bus to the Piazza le Roma on the outskirts of Venice proper.

One can't help but marvel at the stunning setting of Venice and its magnificent buildings which the girls did once they'd pulled themselves out of the 2-3,000 shops they visited !

We made our way on foot to the famous Rialto bridge a magnificent structure built in 1591 and you guessed it housing many more shops for the girls to browse.

Venice is at its majestic best viewed from the water and this we did on our return glimpsing many of the incredible side canals complete with gondolas romancing tourists while stealing their walletts by charging 120 oz dollars per hour !

Back on the bus we stopped for dinner in an Italian restaurant having pasta not much different to that you`d find in Melbourne - not surprising given our large Italian population.

Having been on the go since 5 am we collectively crashed back in our appartment the girls no doubt dreaming about what bargain they might pick up tommorrow !
