Day 22 - Paris From the ridiculous to the sublime - stuck in the Paris Metro !

What a difference - from cycling in icy conditions one week to walking amongst thousands of Parisians taking in the sun another - all in the space of a couple of weeks !

Our day started with an early Easy Jet flight to Paris - again squashed in like sardines for the 1&1/2 hour flight ....... I reckon even Sardines wouldn't be happy by the lack of keg room !

Having dropped our bags off at the airport we made our way towards La Defense a major centre on Paris outskirts for you guessed it more shopping or as we thought until when approaching our stop our metro train applied its emergency brakes and brought us to a standstill !

One hour later after inumerable French messages (no English) to be calm we finally were let out by security staff with a ladder and torches and guided through the dark tunnel back to the previous station - apparently the train had hit someone or something ....... !!!

A couple of hours later with the girls loaded up with shopping we headed for a final look at central Paris and the Eiffel tower.

OMG x 5 ..... with the temp at 23 c every Parisian was outside at bars, on the Seine and even queued up at ice cream shops with most lines 100 metres long ! 23 was like a heatwave !

Tired we finally made our way back to the Airport and by bus to our accommodation 20 minutes away from CDG airport at Noissy wher we ventured out for a final family meal before the girls return to Melbourne.

A chance to reflect on 3 short weeks where Kylee and Tegan had seen London, Paris, Venice, Istanbul and Dubrovnik amongst other places.
